The web version of the Theoretical Ethanol Yield Calculator based on basic stoichiometric relationships is provided below as an example of the yield calculations routinely required to ascertain the upstream grain bioprocessing and baseline ethanol fermentation performance. An advanced version of the Ethanol Yield Calculator is available to our industrial and research partners. The basic version of the Ethanol Yield Calculator only takes into account basic grain composition measurements or assumption in terms of its carbohydrate composition and bioconversion efficiency of complex matrix materials to simple glucose equivalent units. The efficiency of conversion can be adjusted using simple constants such as starch hydrolysis to glucose constant and overall process efficiency constant. Advanced version of the Ethanol Yield Calculator ascertains more realistic yield calculations taking into account process variable and analytical quantifications of substrates and products.
